Over the past 20 years, I’ve honed my skills and developed a deep understanding of the needs of seniors, providing peace of mind to their families.

In addition to running the business, I’m the loving parent of two young children, Layla (4 years old) and Eliya (2 years old), who inspire me every day. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, exploring new adventures, and continuously growing both personally and professionally.

Sheetal Patel

Owner and Executive Director

My name is Sheetal Patel and I am the Owner and Executive Director of Reflections. With over 18 years of experience in senior care, I am passionate about creating a home away from home for seniors, surrounded by loving and caring people. Growing up in a family of healthcare professionals, I started volunteering at hospitals and nursing homes at the age of 10, which instilled in me a deep love for this field.

My educational journey began with a Bachelor of Science in Human Physiology with a Pre-Medicine concentration from Boston University. This solid foundation in human health and medicine fueled my passion for senior care. I furthered my education by earning dual Master’s Degrees in Business Administration and Healthcare Administration. My capstone and thesis focused on assisted living; a field that captivated me during my internship, where I gained invaluable hands-on experience and insights.

I believe that healthcare professionals should be in the industry because they love what they do, as it is a challenging yet incredibly rewarding career. My dedication to this belief drives me to ensure that every senior feels valued and cared for. Outside of work, I am a proud parent of two beautiful girls and cherish every moment spent with family and friends. I love skiing, traveling, watching movies, and seeking new adventures and experiences. Being around people and fostering connections is what energizes me and keeps me motivated.

Bri Gaines

Life Enrichment Director

My name is Bri, and I have a decade of experience in the healthcare industry. Prior to joining Reflections, I began my journey as a dental assistant, earning my radiology certification and working in the field for three years. Seeking a more hands-on role, I transitioned into becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), where I have been licensed for the past nine years.

For over seven years, I have served as a Director of Life Enrichment, developing programs that empower individuals to reach their highest potential. My work focuses on creating personalized, engaging activities that cater to residents, family members, and vendors alike, ensuring inclusivity and meaningful participation.

My passion for healthcare and senior care is deeply rooted in my upbringing. Inspired by my grandfather, a retired Fairfax County police officer and US Army Specialist E4, I uphold the values of integrity and perseverance. My father is a retired US Army and US Marine Sergeant, that instilled in me the importance of compassion and seeing things through while my mother shaped my nurturing, patient, and empathetic approach to care.

Beyond my career, I am a proud parent of four—twin girls and two boys—who fuel my creativity and drive. Their energy and curiosity inspire me daily to develop new, engaging programs that enhance the lives of those I serve.

Diane Plym

Business Office Director

My name is Diane, and I am the Business Office Director. I have been a part of this community for five years and assisted living for over twenty years. Originally from the mountains of North Carolina, I came to Virginia to be closer to my daughter and her family. I have two granddaughters – Elizabeth, a graduate of William and Mary is a 2nd lieutenant in the Army and Anna is a junior at George Mason University. As well as ensuring the business details are handled, I enjoy greeting families and guests as they come into the community.

Erica Rickard Fiorvanti

Director of Resident Care

I am West Virginia born and raised, with deep roots in the community and a strong foundation built in the church. I owe my values and passion to my wonderful grandparents who instilled in me a deep sense of faith, love, and community. Their guidance led me to a fulfilling career dedicated to giving back to the elderly; a tribute to the care and compassion they showed me.

I am a mom to two incredible children, Sierra and Christian, who have both carved out successful careers and continue to make me proud every day. At home, I share a unique passion with my husband: breeding, raising, and training working K9s. These amazing dogs go on to serve in the armed forces and assist individuals with health challenges, a cause close to our hearts.

When I’m not busy with my professional and family commitments, you’ll find me indulging in my love for gardening and practicing yoga. These moments of tranquility keep me grounded and energized. I believe in giving my all to those who need me, always striving to make a positive impact in any way I can.

Sal GIovannelli

Director of Maintenance

My name is Sal Giovannelli and I’ve been working in all aspects of construction – both commercial and residential for 25+ years.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y. (just like Captain America) I grew up taking things apart and putting them back together. Tim Allen from the show Home Improvement was a big influence, as well as MacGyver and the A-Team. Later, MythBusters would round it out.
My wife and I have been married for 11 years and have 6 kids which makes for exciting, if not chaotic weekends. In the summer we run a small landscaping business, and the school year is filling up faster and faster as concerts, recitals and track meets approach.
I love to build, fix, install and improve myself and my work. I am not only happy to be the maintenance director, but also a member of a team where I will grow and improve both individually and as a whole.

Sandra Chahua

Culinary Service Director

Hi, I’m Sandra, the Culinary Service Director at Reflections. For the past three years, I’ve been bringing my passion for cooking to this wonderful place. Before this, I spent five years as a preschool teacher in my home country and seven years working in various restaurants across the United States.

Originally from Lima, Peru, I’ve been living in the U.S. with my amazing family for the past decade. My family includes my supportive husband, our three adorable children – two girls ages 16 and 10, our 1-year-old baby boy, and two adorable dogs.

Cooking isn’t just my job; it’s my passion. I’m also a fitness enthusiast who loves dancing, walking, traveling, and exploring new places and cultures. I believe in creating delicious, healthy meals that bring joy and nourishment to everyone I serve.

Shayla Clark

Director of Marketing

My name is Shayla and I am an assisted living newbie! I spent over 15 years doing digital marketing for software companies and nonprofit organizations in the DC Metro area; specializing in content creation, email campaigns, event planning, and graphic design. I joined Reflections to find a more rewarding industry and leave the corporate grind behind. It was humbling (and a bit scary) to start in a new field, but I’m so glad I took the plunge!

I’ve been married to my wonderful husband for 12 years and come from a very tight-knit family that I love spending time with. Outside of work, I enjoy cooking and trying out new recipes, indulging in reality TV shows, and traveling to any sunny destination where I can place my feet in the sand.
